The world famous parades in Rio are a mix of samba, samba drumming, singing, costumes, floats and spectacular special effects.There are 72 samba schools of Rio, and all parade during the 4 days of Carnival Saturday 21 to Tuesday 24 Feb, 2009th They are listed below with the dates they parade and where you can find. The samba schools are organized into competitive leagues. The samba school parades to be held in two locations, the Marquêsde Sapucaí (AKA the Avenida, the Sambadrome, the Passarela) in the center of the city, and the Intendant Magalhães Estrada in the suburbs.
